If you feel a post is inappropriate

Hi folks,

Just a quick note in regards to the moderation of the group. Sometimes if I am a bit short on time or if we get a lot of posts at once I may have to just skim the overall gist of the posts rather than reading them word for word before I approve them, also we all have a different perspective as to what is acceptable and thus there may sometimes be the odd post that gets through that you may feel is inappropriate. And while this doesn’t seem to happen very often if there is anything that anybody reads and feels is inappropriate then please feel free to either shoot me a PM or use the contact form to let me know and I will always be happy to take another look at it.

Please keep in mind however that a post does have to be quite bad or harmful to the group as a whole for us to delete it, I don’t like to be too heavy handed with that kind of moderation and try to reserve it for only when it is absolutely necessarily as generally I like people to be able to have their say and most things can be ironed out with dialogue and often we can all learn from it, that said if you feel something is inappropriate like I say please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to take another look.

All the best,

    marijuana withdrawal symptoms relief
Just found this cannabis rehab site today. Interesting site. I need to detox smoking the mj. It has been a part of my life more or less since 'bout 1973. My lungs hurt and I wease(sp) a lot. I have no faith I can actually follow through and quit. Smoke pretty much every day and have for years. Too many years.

Hi kpickle39 welcome to the forum.

Smoking marijuana is bad for your lungs and after many years the damage does mount up. I remember one guy that I met in Amsterdam while I was on the sess, who had smoked the drug for many years, he was coughing his guts up and in between he was saying don’t smoke weed. My lungs were not feeling too good either and a few months later I did take his advice and quit, but for many reasons as well my lungs. I know when you smoke pretty much every day it can feel like you just can’t quit, but you can, you just need the motivation. Maybe you are not ready yet, but if your lungs feel bad now the longer you smoke the worse they will get and damage to the lungs caused by any smoke is permanent, it’s not a problem that’s going to go away all by its self. There’s never going to be an easy time to detox and the longer you do it the harder it will become, you are going to have to go through it at some point, so why not limit the damage and get it out the way now?

If you do want to quit, we will be here for you every step of the way, we have all been through it or are going through it right now, so we know what it’s like.

I hope you decide to join us, but whatever you decide has to be your decision and you have to want to do it.

Like I say if you do chose to detox we will do everything we can to support you.

Whatever you decide I wish you the very best of luck.

Take care and I hope we hear from you again.

      Hi kpickle39,

I think you've picked a good time to discover this site...even if ur not yet ready to quit, the people on here all know the feeling...its a bit like breaking up in that when you make the decision to stop smokin pot its a complete change of life....its the end of probably one of the most significant relationships u have rite now...and have had for a long time...sounds a lot like you'v hit the "this just isn't workin for me any more" phase...which again, we've all been thru. Its so simple to say and to realise that ur pot habit has to go.(although I admit the realisation part can be a long, torturous process).but it can be one of the most difficult things to put into action, so just like any other abusive relationship (and if u have a problem with pot its just as destructive) u need to prepare urself for the split. I hope that makes sense! At least on here you will find insight, understanding and acceptance...and the support mate, is fantastic, take it from me...I, like many others would not have found the inner strength to make the break without the genuine encouragement we'v found rite here. I'd just like to encourage you, whatever u decide to do rite now to come here frequently..ask people questions..read others posts...find strength and empowerment through the realisation that ur truly not alone. I think that when ur ready u'll know...when that thought hits you that it has to stop..that u have to stop...its a blow..its a powerful, despairing, but sure realisation that this is the time..don't know if ur there yet, only you can say what stage ur up to..but like the bfb, I hope we hear from you again. Just no that we're here to provide whatever support we can for you (even if ur still using) and don't be afraid to tell us what ur feeling. God bless..I send you thoughts of comfort and empowerment...u r capable of doing this...we all doubted ourselves at first...most of us still do..its a day by day thing I think. Its a brave first step even to come onto this cannabis rehab site and put the thought out there...believe in yourself. Peace.

Thanks I appreciate your encouraging words. Of course, the best case would be for me to slow down to point of me only smoking other people's and not buying it. That way I may go months w/out.

I would just like to add that hippychick is right about anybody been welcome, even if you are still using, all I would say is that like narcotics anonymous the only requirement to be welcome is the desire to stop. I stopped by gradually cutting down first and while this may or may not be best depending on the individual, I feel it was best for me.

well, I smoke when I have it...which is just about all the time. If I can't get it, in all honesty, I'm pretty much ok. I go a month or so w/out, then get some incredible grass adn smoke it till it's gone. If my friend hs more, then I go and get more, smoke it till it's gone, and then go get some more. Then when he is out and he is out often and for a month or so at a time,I don't smoke. I don't look for regs at all. I am self medicating, I know. I really enjoy the buzz adn the rituals and the like, but my lungs can't take it anymore. I don't wanna sufficate or die of cancer. But, after awhile of not getting stoned, I can get pretty manic for a day or so at a time. Nothing dangerous, but enough to where my wife says "go get stoned and calm down".

So I'm out now. I will try not to go see my friend tonight...tomorrow, I'll see how that goes.

I think it is important to bear in mind that there are many other reasons to give up dope, other than just the effects it has on the lungs.

                  marijuana withdrawal symptoms relief
                  Hi Kpickel39,

For the last 18 months i smoked a water pipe/bong, whatever, as i was told it used less tobacco, no paper, yeah yeah. This way i just smoked purer, more packed cones and near lost it! My head that is. I was coughing up black, yeah pure black sh** every morning at first, then all through the day!

Cookies do the trick, but their generally strong, mine were anyway, possibly a vaporizer might be the answer or you could do yourself a real favour and quit. But i know from experience you can only quit when your'e ready for it.

Also my wife used to say the same thing to me, go have a smoke and calm down. Stopped working for me though!

                  All the best
