If you feel a post is inappropriate

Hi folks,

Just a quick note in regards to the moderation of the group. Sometimes if I am a bit short on time or if we get a lot of posts at once I may have to just skim the overall gist of the posts rather than reading them word for word before I approve them, also we all have a different perspective as to what is acceptable and thus there may sometimes be the odd post that gets through that you may feel is inappropriate. And while this doesn’t seem to happen very often if there is anything that anybody reads and feels is inappropriate then please feel free to either shoot me a PM or use the contact form to let me know and I will always be happy to take another look at it.

Please keep in mind however that a post does have to be quite bad or harmful to the group as a whole for us to delete it, I don’t like to be too heavy handed with that kind of moderation and try to reserve it for only when it is absolutely necessarily as generally I like people to be able to have their say and most things can be ironed out with dialogue and often we can all learn from it, that said if you feel something is inappropriate like I say please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to take another look.

All the best,

    marijuana withdrawal symptoms relief
Hi iam new to this i have been a smoker since i was 15years old iam now 36 and have had chronic pain for about 2years i smoke allot of pot all day ever day it used to be a social thing until i hurt my back then it became a problem that was ten years ago. Probably smoke oz a week. The back is ok now but i have pain in spots i have never hurt. The doctors are saying it is probably nerve pain caused by all the smoking, i have also had anxiety to the point of throwing up in the shower before work, haven't worked for two years now. Want to stop but finding it hard living in the same spot and circle of friends who smoke. Are the doctors right about the pain being caused by smoking? is there anyone who has experienced this?

    hi and welcome here...

I thought I was the only one who suffered from nerve pain due to heavy marijuana use, but apparently there are others. What are the new spots you're referring to? For me it was mostly forearms (it felt like tight wires were going through them) and the sciatic nerve, specifically where it crosses the knee. I had to undergo surgery because that particular nerve was pressing too hard against the bone (sorry, I'm no doctor hence my explanation might not be so clear...). In that particular case, I don't know if it's the drug that caused the problem, but it resulted in me not being able to lift my toes. I noticed that smoking a lot tended to make it hurt, specifially the part where the scar was (left side of the knee, right where the tibia and the femur meet).

So I'd say those pains are indirectly caused by the drug that increases the overall anxiety...but like I said I'm no doctor.

      Hi welcome to the forum.

I don’t know about your nerve pain been connected to smoking, but I would probably trust what the doctors say, sure they are not infallible but they usually know more than most lay people. What I do know a bit about and have experienced firsthand is marijuana having a tendency to make anxiety worse and most doctors especially ones that work in mental health tend to agree. So I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a connection between you marijuana use and the extreme anxiety you have experienced. I really do feel for you, all pain killers including marijuana can have side effects and with prolonged use you are more likely to experience them.

If the pain in your back has gone and the new pain is connected to smoking it is probably best to stop and if you still need pain relief it may be best to look into various alternatives, maybe you should see some sort of pain management specialist.

You have my deepest sympathy, it’s always so much harder when you are having to deal with physical pain as well.

I wish you the very best of luck in getting it sorted, if you do decide to detox we will try to be as much support as possible.

      Thanks for sharing.

      Take care
