If you feel a post is inappropriate

Hi folks,

Just a quick note in regards to the moderation of the group. Sometimes if I am a bit short on time or if we get a lot of posts at once I may have to just skim the overall gist of the posts rather than reading them word for word before I approve them, also we all have a different perspective as to what is acceptable and thus there may sometimes be the odd post that gets through that you may feel is inappropriate. And while this doesn’t seem to happen very often if there is anything that anybody reads and feels is inappropriate then please feel free to either shoot me a PM or use the contact form to let me know and I will always be happy to take another look at it.

Please keep in mind however that a post does have to be quite bad or harmful to the group as a whole for us to delete it, I don’t like to be too heavy handed with that kind of moderation and try to reserve it for only when it is absolutely necessarily as generally I like people to be able to have their say and most things can be ironed out with dialogue and often we can all learn from it, that said if you feel something is inappropriate like I say please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to take another look.

All the best,

    marijuana withdrawal symptoms relief
    Hello all,

I'm new to this board, and have some questions. I would like to stop smoking pot. The problem is, my bf, whom which I live with also smokes, he has no urge to stop and will not. How do I quit when it's around me. I do not even know where to begin. Any guidance would be very helpful...

    Hi welcome to the forum.

I am going to be totally honest with you, you are in a very difficult situation, I am not saying that it’s impossible to detox marijuana while living with someone else who smokes, I am sure it has been done, there must be people who stop smoking tobacco while continuing to live with other smokers, there must be people who have quit drinking alcohol while continuing to live with people who still drink alcohol, so I am sure it must be possible to detox smoking marijuana while still living with someone who continues to smoke, but the reason people are always advised to remove them self from the environment where, whatever it is they are trying to detox is being used, is that it does make it a lot more difficult if you don’t. So I think the cannabis rehab type experts are probably right in that respect, it is probably better to remove yourself from that situation if you are able to, but maybe some people are not able to do that, swapping a group of friends who you mainly hang around with because they smoke too, is a much easier thing to do than swapping your partner whom you love deeply and I am not saying you should do that, that’s what makes it so difficult and complicated.

So I guess it comes down to how strong you feel you are, you will have to be especially strong willed to achieve it. The other possibility is that you go and spend a week or two with friends or your family, just until you are over the hardest part, although that’s assuming the first week or two is the hardest part, some feel that staying clean is harder than getting clean.

Anyway it is an extremely difficult situation, so I think the best thing to do is to think long and hard and carefully consider all your options.

It is an extremely difficult one to advise on, Is it possible to detox marijuana while your partner continues to smoke? I would be interested to hear what other people think.

Good luck, take care and please keep us posted on how it goes.

I think it is possible but it would take a hell of a lot of will power.
