If you feel a post is inappropriate

Hi folks,

Just a quick note in regards to the moderation of the group. Sometimes if I am a bit short on time or if we get a lot of posts at once I may have to just skim the overall gist of the posts rather than reading them word for word before I approve them, also we all have a different perspective as to what is acceptable and thus there may sometimes be the odd post that gets through that you may feel is inappropriate. And while this doesn’t seem to happen very often if there is anything that anybody reads and feels is inappropriate then please feel free to either shoot me a PM or use the contact form to let me know and I will always be happy to take another look at it.

Please keep in mind however that a post does have to be quite bad or harmful to the group as a whole for us to delete it, I don’t like to be too heavy handed with that kind of moderation and try to reserve it for only when it is absolutely necessarily as generally I like people to be able to have their say and most things can be ironed out with dialogue and often we can all learn from it, that said if you feel something is inappropriate like I say please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to take another look.

All the best,

Quitting pot is hell. the withdrawl, the emptiness etc. So we all are focusing on the crapy part of doing this hughmungess change. But there definantly have to be good things to it or else nobody would have done it. So what are the positive angles?

i think that the good things about quitting the drug is at the moment too far at least for me to really appreciate , but i have quit for a month in the past and i could tell you that inspiration from life is what comes when you wake up in the morning, not that need to use drugs or alcohol to make you feel alive and right with yourself. you feel free and lets not take our internal freedom lightly. this is really living and not worrying about , oh im an addict or why do i do this? or is this gonna be my life? forget all that stuff, im startting to getoff this drug myself and it aint easy but if you stick to the plan, life is definitely around the corner.

As far of the benefits of giving up smoking cannabis go for me I would say, improved memory and cognitive abilities, healthier lungs, increased motivation, better mental health (less anxiety, paranoia and depression), no longer potentially being in trouble with the law, better home and family life, saving money, not been dependent or no longer feeling the need to have to take the drug, not having to constantly worry about running out and having to pick up all the time, not having to live the drug taking lifestyle or have my life revolve around the drug, to name just a few.

ur right tonka-its so important to look at the positives-the best part of not smoking dope is being able to look my oldest son (13) in the eye and be able to focus and show him i love him just by lookin-wen i'm stoned i avoid his eyes-his company-i dont want him to see me a mess-screwed up-wen i'm off it we go to the park-walk along the river-laugh-smile-be happy for a while-i'm able to talk to my boys and share their life-its a total bag of shi't wen i'm on a smoke bender-i know he sees wat i'm doin-it makes me feel bad now just thinkin about it-wen stoned, stuff dont matter-problems can be left on a todo list which gets lost time and again-

its a good question dude and a good way of lookin at it-this time instead of thinkin about all the bad things i decided to concentrate on the positives of not spendin my days wasted-thinkin of the things i could do rather than the things i do and dont want to-focus needs to be on life-not avoidin it-and if life aint no good then we gotta think why and change it-

          There are many positives:

Knowing I'm in control again is a biggy for me.

Not coughing up lumps of brown tar everyday.

          Mental clarity.

More energy and general feeling of being healthier.

Regained abilty to get things done as and when they need doing, instead of a
month after the absolute final deadline.

Power of speech, no more umms and errs.

Free from worrying about the damage to my lungs and all the other horrible effects of the tobacco I smoked with my weed.

          SELF RESPECT.

R3XXY said it! SELF RESPECT. When I was using I did not feel respect for my self. That is something everybody senses so in turn they do not respect you. And that turns in to a vicious cycle. Having self respect for myself has really made me happy.

Another great thing about quitting is feeling how your willpower grows day by day. Not only your willpower to say no to drugs, but to do more things have more fun, enjoy sports.

And waking up in the morning to find the kitchen isn't like a war zone anymore....

(chocolate wrappers, melon skins, crisp packets, coke cans, takeaway cartons......not to mention the popcorn on the floor that used to stick to my feet and make me look like a hobbit)

I love the fact that now I am in control of my emotions. I can define them (sad, happy, angry) and think I am going to control this, and I do. Not as fast as somebody that did not use but a lot better than before.

Good stuff Tonka, the emotions will vary sometimes good sometimes bad, but it’s how we deal with them that give us our control. It’s good to hear you are feeling more in control, well done mate, stay the course you are doing great!

All good points, it’s important to focus on the positive. I am sure there are more positive aspects to quitting than negative.

I dont get lost so much any more... I remember more stuff, I think faster.

And bunches of stuff that are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of the great stuff about having quit pot is demonstrating to yourself that you can do without it. Next friday will be the 3 month off. So I guess I am gonna celebrate it.

I can also add that I am a now mellow guy. I handle stress a lot better!
