If you feel a post is inappropriate

Hi folks,

Just a quick note in regards to the moderation of the group. Sometimes if I am a bit short on time or if we get a lot of posts at once I may have to just skim the overall gist of the posts rather than reading them word for word before I approve them, also we all have a different perspective as to what is acceptable and thus there may sometimes be the odd post that gets through that you may feel is inappropriate. And while this doesn’t seem to happen very often if there is anything that anybody reads and feels is inappropriate then please feel free to either shoot me a PM or use the contact form to let me know and I will always be happy to take another look at it.

Please keep in mind however that a post does have to be quite bad or harmful to the group as a whole for us to delete it, I don’t like to be too heavy handed with that kind of moderation and try to reserve it for only when it is absolutely necessarily as generally I like people to be able to have their say and most things can be ironed out with dialogue and often we can all learn from it, that said if you feel something is inappropriate like I say please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to take another look.

All the best,

    marijuana withdrawal symptoms relief
i know this sounds ridiculous but hear me out, if we had been brought up with marijuana being legal then it really wouldnt mean anything, it would be no big deal, just like going for a beer dwn the pub/weekend, i genuinley belive its the culture of it being illegal that makes u develop a habbit, im aware some people may disagree with me and go ahead i'd like to hear your point of view, but just in general, if every drug was legalised i genuinley belive we'd have less drug use, i really dont understand how gordon brown and jaqui smith think they havea right to make rules on this issue, there not doctors or phyciatrists at the end on the day, there just taking there personal morals and applying them to the whole country, and its exactly the same in the us (however it looks like legalisation 2010 in california is definatly going to go ahead. ****ign gormles brown needs to wake up, i envy the us, they actually hav a leader with his head screwed on and i think over time they will be headed in the right direction with the drug war.

dont get me wrong peeps, im just addictd to the drug as the next person on CannabisRehab.org and im going through hell, but you hav to question why your going through hell. prohibition doesnt work, heroin adicts fund the taliban, its as simple as that.

The legalisation of cannabis will always be a controversial subject and undoubtedly there are pro’s and con’s both for and against. A lot of the problems the drug is causing these days especially in regards to peoples mental health, may be related to the recent trend over the last decade or so of the drug been bread to be so high in THC and low in CBD’s, there is evidence to suggest that too much THC can increase symptoms of psychosis like effects/mental illness such as anxiety and paranoia, while CBD’s may actually do the opposite and have a anti psychotic effect, modern the drug has been bread to increase the THC and reduce the CBD’s, totally changing the natural ratio of THC to CBD that marijuana naturally had. This may be why so many people are reporting mental health problems these days from using it, so I must admit I have often thought maybe it would be better if they kept the modern day high THC lower CBD street the drug illegal, but legalised the lower THC higher CBD strains which are far more natural and much more like the drug used to be, I don’t know it’s just an idea, maybe people would still prefer the higher THC the drug so many people have developed a taste for these days and continue to buy what would still be illegal. Anyway that’s just my own personal harm reduction idea in regards to the legalisation of marijuana.

Anyway back to what you were saying unregistered guest, I don’t really blame Gordon Brown personally too much, I know he is not popular at the moment, but cannabis was illegal before he came to power and I am pretty sure it will still be after he is gone. Whatever his personal view or morality on the issue I am not sure he could legalise it even if he wanted to, I think it would probably be political suicide especially now that more and more doctors, psychiatrists and various others who work in the field of mental health, are increasingly reporting the negative effects that modern cannabis is having on the minds of those who use it. I think the chance for legalisation has probably been and gone, the closest it came was a few years back when Tony Blair down graded it, but since then it has been re-upgraded and if anything the tide has moved in the other direction, like I say I think the reputation of this higher THC lower CBD ratio type marijuana, has started to catch up with it’s self now that people have been smoking it for a few years, that’s just the way it is with a new type of drug it can take a few years for the reputation of the longer term effects to catch up. Anyway whatever the rights or wrongs of it most people in the country (UK) probably don’t want it legalised and rightly or wrongly the majority rule, that’s just democracy I guess, if it would win more votes than it would lose I am sure there would be more politicians promising to do it. If more people wanted it legal than illegal and felt strongly enough about it I think they would have to legalise it, governments that don’t listen to the majority don’t stay in power long.

As far as the negative effects go as a result of something been illegal, maybe it’s true to a certain extent in some respects, but just because a drug is legal doesn’t mean that it ceases to have any negative effects or cause problems, look at alcohol, I think a lot of problems caused by drugs are the chemical effects of the drug it’s self regardless of it’s legal status. I know that the mental health problems that the type of the drug I was smoking caused me would have been the same regardless of it’s legal status, so would the extent to which I became dependent on it.

Anyway that’s just my take on it, but I appreciate it’s a controversial subject and that we all have our own views.

yeah to be fair you're most probaly right, i just remember when i went to amsterdam i actually wanted to smoke as little as possibly, i remember going out there with the mindset oh im going to smoke everything they have i'll be buying from every coffeeshop, when i got there it was a much different story, the drug was ridiculously strong, almost to the point where it doesnt feel like you've smoked weed, feel's like some trippy research chemical. and i found the dutch to be very weary of any form of tourist smoking in there coffeeshops.

I know what you mean, I must admit when it comes to the legal status of cannabis I am not really %100 sure either way, I think there are pro’s and con’s for both sides of the argument, personally I did experience problems with cannabis, but I am not saying that everybody will or that it can’t be used responsibly by some and therefore should be banned for everybody, although the recent significant change in the ratio of THC to CBD’s does concern me a bit, from what I have heard that’s not a good thing. But I can appreciate people being upset about the hypocrisy of it been illegal especially when it comes to things like alcohol, which let’s face it probably causes more problems than most illegal drugs put together, it’s a bit of a weird exception when it comes to western society and alcohol, we don’t except any other recreational drug which has such powerful mind altering effects but we do that, maybe it’s just because it’s been a part of our culture for so long that we accept it so much, but like many people say if it wasn’t already legal and had not been for so long there’s probably very little chance it would get legalised in this day and age, knowing what we know about it now, in fact when you hear a lot of the arguments for the legalisation of other drugs that use the comparison of alcohol as a reason, I sometimes think it’s more of an argument that alcohol should not be legal than other drugs should, if anything we probably shouldn’t be adding to the problem by legalising others, but reducing the problem by banning alcohol and bringing it into line with all the other drugs in terms of its legal status, at least then we would have should kind of continuity. Who knows in two hundred years time when we are all going around in flying cars maybe we will look back and say, man can you believe alcohol used to be legal, just like we look back at the Victorians and say, can you believe you used to be able to buy opium from your local chemist. Anyway I am not sure I am really saying I want alcohol to be banned, I am not really sure I want marijuana to be either, I am not really a big prohibitionist apart for maybe with really hardcore drugs like meth and heroin and even then I still question whether it’s the best approach, I don’t know maybe I am one of those undecided people who can see both sides of the argument, like I say if it was up to me I would probably try legalising the lower THC cannabis and see how it went. Also there’s also the third option of decriminalisation, I sometimes think that may be the best approach when it comes to most drugs in general.

Anyway an interesting subject never the less. What say you?

Ive read an article on the internet that says thc is a million times more potent than alcohol because it is fat soluble and sticks to the blood-brain barrier which is like a sieve that prevents harmful substances getting to the brain. It slowly feeds it to the brain so you're continually sedated. You can find it at encognitive.com

I see sounds interesting, we are still learning a lot about how drugs work including marijuana. I think marijuana may be a more powerful drug than perhaps we once thought especially the newer strains. It’s a continuous experiment the results of which are constantly unfolding.

It is so interesting to read about different country's position on the issue and yes, also to consider history and what future generations perceptions.

I listened to some research lately that said that teenagers are doing a lot less drinking, a lot less toking and a lot less smoking. I think that iPhones have something to do with that, as constant phone use can make younger people more passive (according to another piece of research), but it is good that our youngsters seem to be more interested in things like health and exercise than the generations before them!
