If you feel a post is inappropriate

Hi folks,

Just a quick note in regards to the moderation of the group. Sometimes if I am a bit short on time or if we get a lot of posts at once I may have to just skim the overall gist of the posts rather than reading them word for word before I approve them, also we all have a different perspective as to what is acceptable and thus there may sometimes be the odd post that gets through that you may feel is inappropriate. And while this doesn’t seem to happen very often if there is anything that anybody reads and feels is inappropriate then please feel free to either shoot me a PM or use the contact form to let me know and I will always be happy to take another look at it.

Please keep in mind however that a post does have to be quite bad or harmful to the group as a whole for us to delete it, I don’t like to be too heavy handed with that kind of moderation and try to reserve it for only when it is absolutely necessarily as generally I like people to be able to have their say and most things can be ironed out with dialogue and often we can all learn from it, that said if you feel something is inappropriate like I say please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to take another look.

All the best,

    marijuana withdrawal symptoms relief
So, after smoking daily with few interruptions for 32 years, I finally became disgusted with what pot has done to my cognitive abilities and quit.

I've been pretty chronic, that's for sure. Many years ago I went to cannabis rehab and they told me I had the highest THC levels they've ever seen. I told them that I'm used to scoring high on tests but that wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear.

Over the last several years my wife and I have been growing our own so it has been plentiful and potent.

It has been 10 days now and I still have a light buzz, which I understand is to be expected.

Here's what I didn't expect -- while my short term memory has improved remarkably, I have had some inexplicable memory problems that have been creeping me out, like forgetting the name of an acquaintance I've known quite awhile, or the 4 digit combination to the laptop lock I've had at work for 2 years.

On the other hand, I have tried to enter in passwords that I should have forgotten months ago, and old resident addresses and phone numbers pop into my head at random times.

Is this something anyone else has experienced relatively early in the detox period? Everything I've read (which has been a lot) says that the cognitive problems are definitely reversible, so I'm assuming that this is just a weird phenomenon of my brain rewiring itself.

Anyway, I am SO pleased with myself that I have quit under no duress like probation, threat of divorce, or something else imposed on me. A couple of weeks ago it would have taken me a half hour to come up with a post this long, whereas I whacked out this very coherent message just now in a mere 5 minutes.

    Hey Lykafox

i am so with you on the memory problems! Im on day 16 today and have found myself stumbling for people's names and forgetting things which is somewhat embarrassing! My mum who is 75 has a better memory than me! It doesn't happen all the time but is frustrating. Well done on stopping, you are doing really well. I feel i am just starting to get over a lot of the symptoms associated with withdrawl, although the sweats and upset stomach are still pretty strong. I too was a very strong smoker of only very high quality the drug and i think this is obviously harder. you are doing the right thing and should be proud of yourself - is your wife still smoking, cos than can be pretty tough if she is?

    Keep strong

    B

      Hi Lykafox,
Congratulations on your achievement, you are doing really well. I am clean for 2 days now, I was clean for 60 and I had a ten week relapse. Last time I quit I was also experiencing memory loss, I couldn't remember my mums phone number and I use it every day. It did get better tho, and I ended up with a clearer head than I have ever had so just persevere. And please be careful, I got to confident and thought that I had this addiction sorted, and now I'm on day two again!!
You sound really determined and you should be very proud of yourself. How are the night sweats? Mine stopped after about a month. (but they are here again)
anyway keep up the good work.

I was pretty sure that weird memory issues were to be expected but am glad to hear I'm not the only one. No physical symptoms yet but it is still in my system. Inklings of some other mental issues that I'll cover in another thread. My wife has quit too, bless her heart, even though I kinda sprung this on her out of the blue, when just a week before we were planning the grow room for our new house. We became life partners at 20 y.o. and are more connected than ever after 30 years. Thanks for your replies!

Hi lyka fox and welcome to the forum.

Yeah both using and quitting a drug like marijuana can scramble your brain a bit which can include the weird memory loss episodes you are experiencing, I am sure it will settle down, like you say there’s probably a fair bit of rewiring going on right now.

Well done on quitting without been forced to have to do so, that shows real self control, very wise IMO, it’s certainly a much better idea than waiting until the shit hits the fan.

Anyway we are all with you, I am sure you can do it.

Take care, thanks for posting and please keep us posted.
