If you feel a post is inappropriate

Hi folks,

Just a quick note in regards to the moderation of the group. Sometimes if I am a bit short on time or if we get a lot of posts at once I may have to just skim the overall gist of the posts rather than reading them word for word before I approve them, also we all have a different perspective as to what is acceptable and thus there may sometimes be the odd post that gets through that you may feel is inappropriate. And while this doesn’t seem to happen very often if there is anything that anybody reads and feels is inappropriate then please feel free to either shoot me a PM or use the contact form to let me know and I will always be happy to take another look at it.

Please keep in mind however that a post does have to be quite bad or harmful to the group as a whole for us to delete it, I don’t like to be too heavy handed with that kind of moderation and try to reserve it for only when it is absolutely necessarily as generally I like people to be able to have their say and most things can be ironed out with dialogue and often we can all learn from it, that said if you feel something is inappropriate like I say please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to take another look.

All the best,

    marijuana withdrawal symptoms relief
    Hey Bloggers,

I am wondering if there is anybody out there who is feeling the same way that I do. Whenever I smoke Dope it is usually followed immediatley by some intense gaming on my Xbox 360. It is a really weird thing but every time I think about quitting pot I get depressed because I think that I won't be able to enjoy my games.

Is this silly? Games aren't the only thing that I think I won't enjoy without pot; but it is the main one. Not only is pot taking all my money, it is eating up all my time in front of the video box. I can easily spend the whole day smoking pot and sitting in front of the idiot box. I am so sick and tired of this life. Am I weird for feeling like this?

    Regards

    Cannabis Abuse Addiction

Hi welcome to the forum, no I don’t think you are being silly, people start using marijuana because they find that it makes doing certain things more pleasurable including sex, listening to music and playing video games. In fact I think that playing video games is a big part of the things you do when stoned culture, for allot of young people, it can go hand in hand with the addiction. You won’t know whether you can still enjoy playing video games without using marijuana until you try. But I would say that if you are going to succeed in quitting, you will have to find new things to do that you enjoy that won’t make you want to use marijuana, like sport for example. Most activities that involve some sort of physical exertion, tend not to make you want to use marijuana in order to enjoy them. The two don’t really seem to go together from my experience. I have never whilst going for a run thought smoking a joint would compliment this nicely.

Do you have any hobbies or activities that you enjoy that don’t go hand in hand with getting stoned?

Yeah I agree, you need to start getting out the house, mixing with people and doing things you enjoy that don’t involved getting stoned.

      Good luck.

          100% the same

The only way i have found is to get a job but not a shity one, one you can and WANT to dedicate your time too. NOT to go cold turkey still play in the evenings and SOME free time but the key is not too let it ever get in the way of sleep (before you need to go to work for instance) and then maybe you can be like me i still blaze and play but i don't wake up and smoke and switch on the xbox like i did. I know its not easy but I don't think of quitting just yet, cut down only smoke in the evening to help not being able to sleep from not smoking because i found this is what would make me break my trying to stop, but that is almost impossible without something to take up your day, or as soon as your bored you will resort back to your old ways as i did time after time. I know the xbox can be just as addictive as smoking ganja even more combined as i enjoyed very much and still do. I think that's where the addiction starts you need to fill your day with a job or as other people have said sport... but it doesn't take up your whole day and you can't do it everyday so my advice is to slowly cut down try to wait till the end of the day and the problem with money get a bong (If you don't have one) because you use less 1/4 what you would in a joint and hold it in. You will find it costs you alot less and you will have money to do other things hopefully not more grade! AND of course having a job will bring in a lot more money and a sense of achievement which is one of the main reasons people become dependent on xbox live achieving things on the game they think would never add up to in life. I hope you can cut down and maybe stop let me know how it goes if you want GamerTag: GeneralRedEye05

That’s good advice doing a job you like will really help you fill your day, just don’t start smoking dope at work. I have known people who do.

I wouldn’t hold the smoke in for too long, the longer you hold it in the more it damages your lungs.

                Thanks heaps guys

                Hey Bloggers,

I want to thank everyone for their input. It has really helped me for many reasons. The first one is that I now know that I am not alone and that there are some alternatives. I have bought some gyme equipment!!!! Cost me like $10 Its amazing what you can get if you look. I am now doing situps and lightweight training with dumbells. Secondly I don't feel as isolated as I used. I have unfortunatley cut off my XBOX live subscription so that I can ween myself off the machine. It so annoying especially because in Australia they have just released Fable2 and Gears of War 2!!!!

I am also taking the reduce approach which has been discussed in many blogs and will keep you guys update with the situation. On the job front....am looking still haven't found one. I am a uni student (mature age so I am just finishing up with exams.

The other bit of advice that I really appreciated is the one ubout not playing first thing in morning and late at night. I can easily stay up until like 5am especially when I was thrashing GTA4

                Kind Regards

                Keep gaming
