If you feel a post is inappropriate

Hi folks,

Just a quick note in regards to the moderation of the group. Sometimes if I am a bit short on time or if we get a lot of posts at once I may have to just skim the overall gist of the posts rather than reading them word for word before I approve them, also we all have a different perspective as to what is acceptable and thus there may sometimes be the odd post that gets through that you may feel is inappropriate. And while this doesn’t seem to happen very often if there is anything that anybody reads and feels is inappropriate then please feel free to either shoot me a PM or use the contact form to let me know and I will always be happy to take another look at it.

Please keep in mind however that a post does have to be quite bad or harmful to the group as a whole for us to delete it, I don’t like to be too heavy handed with that kind of moderation and try to reserve it for only when it is absolutely necessarily as generally I like people to be able to have their say and most things can be ironed out with dialogue and often we can all learn from it, that said if you feel something is inappropriate like I say please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to take another look.

All the best,

    marijuana withdrawal symptoms relief
I haven't written here in a while. This will probably be my last post. I stopped smoking 600 days ago. I had some pretty bad withdrawals. Since then I have been doing MUCH better. It seems to me, because I am obese, that it took over a year for my body to rid EVERY bit of my stored THC. After that felt much better. I just want everyone to know that the only way to get through this is to just power through it. That wont be easy, I know. But it is the only way. There is 100% light at the end of the tunnel, and things get easier and easier as time goes on, not harder.  It'll never be harder than it is right now. Addiction is no joke, but conquering it is the most satisfying and rewarding feeling in the world

    Hi Nerdturd87,

Nice to hear from you, and an amazing post.

I think you're right about it taking a while for the THC to leave your system, it can take a long time for a variety of reasons, such as metabolism, amount consumed, and regularity.

You're almost 2 years clean, and it's great to hear you're feeling so much better. It took longer than that for me, the improvements were gradual, but I'm glad I stuck with it. As you said, it takes real grit and determination.

I shot you a PM to read, by the way.

    All the best,

How old are you two? I'm 48, been abusing weed (ALOT) all day, everyday for 30 years. At 6 months straight (from everything), I have NO desire to get back on anything. I'm married with a kid. We are fine. I am naturally not. Lost my job, and I am losing interest in everything. I guess that would make sense, since I was always high. How long before you felt "better" at all? 6 months is not that long in the big picture. I guess any response at all would be fantastic.
      Thank

Ok, not sure what to write here. I may have gotten too personal in my last post. Can anyone give an idea of where Im headed to after 6 months clean (not that long) Im 48, smokes for 30 years: I guess I am changing personalities after being high for so long. I just want something to look forward to. I have no desire to get back on anything. Quit cold turkey. Went through sweats, super anger, etc. Still having CRAZY dreams. That's all par for the course. It's married with a kid. It's fine. Naturally, I am not: Lost my job, now I am just losing interest in everything. PLEASE anyone tell me something positive.

          Hi!
I am sorry nobody replied to you sooner, your post is almost a month old. I hadn't been here in a while and I was surprised to see as little activity on the forum. I'm sure there will soon be as new year resolutions are kicking in. CONGRATULATIONS on making it 6 months free of the weed that once was a huge part of your life. That period is gone and I hope that you are living your best life without the need to get high.

I'm sure that you now deal with life's obstacles differently but you now have clarity of mind. I envy you.

How were you able to quit cold turkey after 30 years?

I've been smoking daily for 23 years and counting, sadly. But I will take another shot, then another, then maybe I will succeed and get rid of my "dark passenger", as Dexter would call his own vice.

THANK YOU for inspiring me that it's possible!

            Hey there
It sounds like you are going through a lot and are really struggling. And losing your job on top of it!

I would have to agree with nerturd87 when he (she?) says the only way to get
through this is to power through it. It might sound cliche, but one day at a time. Do whatever you can to
distract yourself. Good nutrition and excercise, be easy on yourself. Try to find interest in little things that you like. Don't worry if you don't get the same rush feeling as when you were high. You won't for a while probably. But you are better off by doing this. And it will get better.

It really can be a struggle to not be high anymore. Honestly, I really loved it. But it turned on me the last 6 months of getting high. Anxiety, insomnia, and I felt really stupid all the time.
Once I stopped I knew it was for good. But the post acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS) was tough. For me it got better gradually. At six months I was still a mess. (Although better than Day 1.) I would feel better for a while then it would hit again. There was no switch that turned one day and I felt completely better. And to some degree, is still getting better. It's been 4 years without cannabis after 20+ years of regular daily use. I feel the best I have felt in years (well, for a soon-to-be 56 year old!)

Also, get professional help. Therapist, support groups, tell your doctor. This site and Marijuana Anonymous were (and this site sitll is) both very helpful to me. Being able to talk about what I was going through and having people listen, understand, and tell me it would be ok, was invaluable. A few good friends helped as well.

            Hope this helps a little.

            Hang in there my friend
            John
