Newbie here.
Brief Overview:
Prescribed THC as an alternative or adjunct to opiates for post surgery neuropathic pain control. Acute pain levels.
Strain: Tahoe O.G. (did not get high though vertigo and dizziness at lst). Not taken recreationally.
Dosage: 10-15 mg/3hr (24/7) THC edibles as needed. Ended up round the clock to moderate pain and anxiety, etc.
Duration: 6 months (march to sept).
Recent medication adjustment by doctors. Elimination of THC.
Now in withdrawal. Day 7. (exhausted, weak)
Symptoms: Insomnia, night sweats, compromised mentation, anxiety, panic attacks, poor appetite, lethargy, fits of crying and despair,.
Notes: Loss 30 lbs due to 30 days on deep body antibiotics. Bactrim. Discontinued 2 weeks ago. Can't exercise due to post op pain.
Professional help: Naturopath, Primary Care, etc.
Supplements: (a few of them) LDN (low dose Naltraxone 1 mg AM, 2 mg PM, L-Triptophan, L Theanine, Glycine, GABA, Aurum, etc.
Support: IV Therapy 2x/week, acupuncture, etc. Self hypnosis meditation for anxiety and sleep in my earphones 24/7.
I'm new to this and am suffering and don't have anyone to share my struggles that is familiar with THC withdrawal.
Fortunately I am retired and do not have to go to work or have other demands on my time.
Unfortunately, besides medical supervision, I have no support group.
6 months ago I was a highly motivated professional, now I have zero motivation and find looking farther than one day is tough.
I have been recently prescribed antidepressants but do not want to take them as they will compromise my health.
I have been through 2 spine surgeries over the years and have neuropathy but this struggle with THC is tough indeed.
I am despondent and certainly my Faith is being tested in a very big way.
I don't know what else to do beyond what I am doing.
Feel lost and adrift.
Questions:
Has anyone here been prescribed THC at this sustained dosage, or greater, for neuropathic or post op pain management and then been taken off of it?
How long and how hard is this struggle going to be?
Anything else from anyone that I should know?
Thanks everyone for your kind help and support.
Retired Guy.
