    Default Pregnant and pot withdrawal

    I am six months pregnant and have been smoking daily for 11 years now. I have stopped for the sake of the baby but I can't eat because of the withdrawal....anyone have any ideas to be able to eat? I really need to feed myself for the baby but can't...

    Hi and welcome to the forum.

    Well done deciding to detox I think you are definitely doing the right thing. Although you definitely need to sort out the not wanting to eat situation too, you may have to look into some kind of appetite stimulate I don’t know, although obviously it has to be something that’s safe to take whilst pregnant, I must admit I don’t really know much about that sort of thing, the best thing to do is probably to google it and see what you can find, I would do it for you but I think if I do any more googling tonight I will probably pass out. Anyway whatever the internet says you should probably get some professional medical advice, eating right is going to be really important especially when pregnant. But in the mean time you should probably at least consume some of those complete meal sachets that you mix with milk.

    Anyway I am just about wacked and about to go to bed, but I just wanted to say hi, welcome, thanks for posting and please keep us posted on how it goes, I hope we can be with you every step of the way.

    First congrats on stopping but like any drug you can't quit cold turkey this is part of the reason you can't eat try to excersise in place of smoking help build your appetite. Find something you truly love to eat .... (My happy food is cereal ) no matter if you don't feel like eating, eat as much as you can. Keep a good support system around it helped me to talk to family about the situation I was slowly slipping into depression which was not healthy for me or baby. I was able to over come the withdrawal and depression also keep busy and stay hydrated plenty of vitamins will also help build a appetite. Good luck hope i helped a little.

    I have found eating hardwork > make yourself eat. Make something and just eat it. Don't think about "am i hungry".

    just get get some food on a plate and stick it in the old cake hole.

    Until 5 days ago i smoked every day and as much as i could get hold of since i was 16, I am now 33. You can do it too > I have no will power. I am just sick of being a slave to dik ed dealers and a bloody plant.

    Don' t think about it too much. just make something quick to eat and get it down .

    I'm 17 weeks and just quit today. Prior to, I had been smoking daily as much as I want. I've been a pot smoker for about 12 years. I understand not being able to eat. It's not as easy as some are saying to just stuff your face otherwise it wouldn't be a problem. I'm dealing with vomiting, and no appetite since quitting. Hoping it's just early withdrawal symptoms.     Best of luck with stimulating your appetite. Hopefully it won't last too long. Some people say to try to eat really benign things that can help with nausea, such as crackers, or rice or cereal. Other people say that you should try and get some physical activity to stimulate your appetite, and this article mentions some herbs that can be used to stimulate the appetite: http://www.digherbs.com/loss-of-appetite.html Peppermint tea is probably a good idea!

    I’m exactly 6 months pregnant and I just stop smoking today I haven’t been able to keep anything down and I am I am extremely constipated from my iron pills miserable as hell but this is not the first go around with stop smoking and I no it will pass... But we’d is the more less addicting drug there is to just have to get through the first three days good luck everyone else

    Default Guilt and smoking

    Hello! I am 13 weeks + 4 days pregnant and have been a pot (bong) smoker for close to 10+ years.... we have seen baby and heartbeat everything is fine HOWEVER!
    I am having real trouble giving up for good and the guilt is riddling me but I am also feeling very selfish in the fact that I'm thinking more of myself than the baby! Obviously quitting any habit is hard... but I'm finding this so hard my other half also smokes pot and cigarettes and drinks. I was a heavy heavy drinking prior to pregnancy and quit that cold turkey now it's just quitting this one, I am PETRIFIED and embarrassed to tell me DR! I've been smoking 3 cones a day... which in comparison to what I was prior is a big change for me...
    Any advice would be great? I'd never forgive myself if something were to happen but it's my own fault! HELPPPPPPP.
